Description (False Agave Mission to Mars) Family Asparagaceae Garden origin Big and bold, elegantly curving and fluted dark, brooding red leaves have wow factor to spare! With the potential to form rosettes over 1m wide, this is the largest False Agave we stock, with the highest impact colour, being so densely speckled with maroon that the grey/green colour of the leaves is nearly obscured. Growing initially as a single rosette, it will produce offset (pups) at its base, when its epic 3m tall flowering spike is produced, bearing masses of long golden tubular flowers. Rosettes that have flowered die, but its young many pups continue the life of the plant. Height and spread after 5 – 10 years 1m x 1.5m.
